Piercing care

Piercing Care

Remember, every piercing is a fresh wound, and for proper healing, it requires:

  • Do not interfere with your body’s natural healing process;
  • Keep the pierced area clean and free of dirt;
  • You will need antiseptic and saline solution for full healing.

All necessary healing products can be purchased at our studio.

What NOT to do:

  • Avoid moving the piercing jewelry. Twisting or playing with the jewelry complicates healing and disrupts the piercing channel;
  • Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, creams, or herbal infusions;
  • Keep cosmetics like creams, powders, conditioners, oils, etc., away from the piercing;
  • Avoid smoking, alcohol, coffee, and blood-thinning medications. These affect blood vessels and blood flow to the piercing, which can hinder healing;
  • Do not sleep on the fresh piercing. Pressure can affect the angle of the piercing and slow down healing;
  • Avoid tanning salons for two weeks, and stay away from pools, saunas, and open water for a month.

Lobe and Cartilage Piercing

Remember, a healthy body aids proper piercing healing.

Drink plenty of water, take care of your health, eat well, and get enough sleep. These simple tips will help your body heal faster.

You will need saline solution and antiseptic.

All necessary healing products can be purchased at our studio.

Antiseptic - disinfects and cleanses the piercing area from dirt, dust, and bacteria that may be on your hands, clothing, or in the air.

Wash the piercing 2-3 times a day after coming home with antiseptic on both sides. Usage period: 15-20 days.

Saline solution - promotes healing, reduces swelling, and helps keep the piercing clean.

Clean the piercing twice a day (morning and evening) on both sides. Soften and remove any dried discharge. Usage period: 1-1.5 months.

The piercing is considered partially healed after 1-1.5 months. After this time, visit your piercer to change the jewelry to a shorter piece.

Be aware that even small mechanical irritations or attempts to change the jewelry yourself can prolong healing or damage the piercing. Improper materials can cause allergic reactions (burning, itching, redness) or pigmentation, which is irreversible.

What NOT to do:

  • Avoid moving the jewelry. Twisting or playing with it disrupts healing and the piercing channel;
  • Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, creams, or herbal infusions. Hydrogen peroxide and alcohol can burn the skin, while creams and ointments can harbor bacteria, and herbs can cause allergic reactions;
  • Avoid smoking, alcohol, coffee, and blood-thinning medications. These affect blood vessels and blood flow to the piercing, which can hinder healing. Nicotine, in general, negatively affects the body and can double the healing time;
  • Avoid tanning salons for two weeks, pools and saunas for 1.5-2 months, and open water for 2 months.

If you have any questions, contact the studio or the person who performed the procedure.

Lip Piercing

Remember, a healthy body helps with proper healing.

Drink plenty of water, maintain good health, eat well, and get enough sleep. These simple tips will help your body recover faster.

Lip piercings need care from both sides. On one side, the piercing is exposed to dirt and bacteria in the air, while on the inside, food residue, saliva, etc., can come into contact with it.

For complete healing, you will need an antiseptic, saline solution, and an alcohol-free, mint-free mouthwash.

All necessary healing products can be purchased at our studio.

Saline Solution - promotes healing, reduces swelling, and helps keep the piercing clean.

Clean the piercing twice a day (morning and evening) on both sides. Soften and remove any dried discharge. Usage period: 1-1.5 months.

Antiseptic - disinfects and cleanses the piercing area from dirt, dust, and bacteria that may be on your hands, clothing, or in the air.

After coming home, clean the piercing 2-3 times a day on both sides with antiseptic. Usage period: 15-20 days.

Mouthwash - rinse your mouth for about 30 seconds to disinfect the piercing from the inside. Use it after eating and every time something enters your mouth (but no more than 3-4 times a day). Usage period: 1 month.

After 3 weeks, you should visit your piercer to replace the jewelry with a shorter one. By this time, the swelling should have subsided, and the long labret may damage your gums and tooth enamel.

What NOT to do:

  • Avoid playing with the jewelry. The less you touch it, the faster it will heal;
  • Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, creams, or herbal infusions. Hydrogen peroxide and alcohol can burn the skin, while creams and ointments harbor bacteria, and herbal remedies may cause allergic reactions;
  • Avoid smoking, drinking alcohol, coffee, and blood-thinning medications. These affect blood flow to the piercing, which can hinder healing. Nicotine negatively affects the body overall and can double the healing time;
  • Do not remove the jewelry on your own during the first 2 months, as the piercing channel can close quickly, making it difficult to reinsert the jewelry without professional help;
  • Avoid hard, salty, spicy, and excessively hot foods for 1-2 weeks.

Tip:

  • If there’s significant swelling or pain, drink ice water. Cold liquids can help reduce discomfort;
  • The less you talk and play with the jewelry, the faster your piercing will heal;
  • Before eating, always wash your hands. This reduces the chance of introducing bacteria into your mouth.

If you have any questions, contact the studio or the person who performed the procedure.

Navel Piercing

Remember, a healthy body aids proper healing.

Drink plenty of water, maintain a balanced diet, and get enough rest. These basic habits will help your body recover more quickly.

For healing, you will need saline solution, antiseptic, and bandages/dressings.

For the first 10 days, you should cover the piercing with a bandage (including at night), changing the bandage 3-4 times a day. At home, as long as nothing is touching the piercing area, you can leave the bandage off. If you experience a reaction to the bandage, try sleeping in a clean shirt and reduce bandage usage.

After 2-2.5 months, the piercing is partially healed. At this stage, you can gently change the jewelry yourself with the help of a taper or by visiting a piercer. The body will continue to adapt to the piercing, and after this, it will be fully healed.

What NOT to do:

  • Avoid tight clothing around the waist, high-waisted pants, and any other items that might rub against the piercing area, as this can hinder healing;
  • If you experience irritation from the bandage, you can sleep without it, as long as you wear a clean shirt each night;
  • Avoid moving the jewelry. Twisting or playing with it disrupts healing and the piercing channel;
  • Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, creams, or herbal infusions. Hydrogen peroxide and alcohol can burn the skin, while creams and ointments harbor bacteria, and herbs may cause allergic reactions;
  • Avoid smoking, alcohol, coffee, and blood-thinning medications. These affect blood vessels and blood flow to the piercing, which can hinder healing. Nicotine negatively affects the body and can double the healing time;

At home, as long as nothing is touching the piercing area, you can leave the bandage off. If you experience irritation from the bandage, try sleeping in a clean shirt and minimize bandage usage.

After 2-6 months, the piercing is partially healed. At this stage, you can gently change the jewelry, either by yourself with the help of a taper or by visiting a piercer. Keep in mind that if you remove the jewelry for a few hours, the piercing channel might shrink, making it difficult to reinsert without assistance.

If you intend to wear rings, start with rings of a larger diameter and gradually move to smaller ones.

During the first month, avoid tight or compressive sports bras. Pressure can affect blood circulation, which can extend the healing time.

There are no restrictions on exercising, but avoid activities that might damage the piercing. Take regular breaks to prevent sweat from affecting the piercing.

Once you no longer need the bandage, it's a good idea to sleep in clean shirts for about 1-1.5 months.

What NOT to do:

  • Avoid moving the jewelry. Twisting or playing with it disrupts healing and the piercing channel;
  • Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, creams, or herbal infusions. Hydrogen peroxide and alcohol can burn the skin, creams and ointments can harbor bacteria, and herbal remedies may cause allergic reactions;

The septum piercing will be partially healed after one month. At this point, you can change the jewelry to a different piece. The jewelry must be made of high-quality titanium. Improper materials can cause allergic reactions (burning, itching, redness) or lead to pigmentation, which is an irreversible process. Mouthwash - rinse your mouth for about 30 seconds to disinfect the piercing from the inside. Use it after eating and every time something enters your mouth (but no more than 3-4 times a day). Usage period: 1 month.

In the first few days, a white or yellowish coating and swelling may appear around the piercing.

After 3 weeks, schedule an appointment with your piercer to replace the longer jewelry with a shorter one, so it won't interfere with eating, hit your teeth, or damage your gums and enamel.

What NOT to do:

  • Avoid playing with the jewelry. The less you disturb the piercing, the faster it will heal;
  • Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, creams, or herbal infusions. Hydrogen peroxide and alcohol can burn the skin, creams and ointments can harbor bacteria, and herbal remedies may cause allergic reactions;
